Observation details
Audio, photo. Heard the loud "three-ay" song just before audio marker 12 on the north loop, and after nearly a half hour of craning my neck I was able to get some decent looks. Distinctive yellow throat and spectacles, olive upperparts, thick bill. This individual was singing very loudly from cottonwood trees on the east side of the road and never strayed far from the audio 12 sign. This species is quite rare in Socorro County even during spring migration, but it seems particularly surprising to find one in mid-July
