Media notes
Adult male Eastern Wood-pewee giving dawn songs from the crown of a deciduous tree at about 20-22 meters at 0501. This is the same individual as in ML167899181. Recorder HPF on at 80Hz, -12dB/octave.
Observation details
There were at least 5 singing males doing dawn song this morning well before sunrise. It was interesting that most of them became quiet after the dawn chorus. The "family" group consisted of what appeared to be 2 adults and 3 juveniles. I am fairly certain that ML167899751 is a young bird that was trying out his syrinx. He produced some very unusual calls and sounds mostly while perched. He then started singing fairly normal songs.
