Observation details
Sound recordings obtained. Becky Hiser and I heard a vireo singing from the backyard pavillion. Despite some effort, we were unable to locate it as it was quite a ways in. I believed it was Yellow-green Vireo and we alerted other birders at the center, but it went silent. Similar to Red-eyed Vireo song, but has that House Sparrow quality, and delivered more rapidly, approximately one phrase every 1.5 seconds. It was difficult to hear how well the recordings turned out on my Olympus LS-14 (tiny speaker) in the field. After downloaded, I shared the files with Rich Hoyer, who concurs with Yellow-green Vireo ID.
