Media notes
Very quite caaa by a female (seen after) presumably from a nest.
Observation details
*** High. Note, the waters are much higher this year in the Upper Pool providing great habitat for LEBIs. These birds were all seen in very tight areas. In one case, I had a LEBI pair from one station come in and chase the LEBI pair at the station I was at. All locations have been provided to the USFWS Biologists. One the above female LEBI in particular was very close to the canoe, lores flushing red. I was not playing the broadcast vocalizations. I her a hiss from behind me and slowly turned to see another female about 5 feet away. Chasing ensued. It was a crazy day. Had one male carrying a small fish into a likely nest spot and had another male carrying what appeared to be a small frog into another likely nest spot. July should be great at the Impoundments to observe LEBI as they make prolonged flights getting food for their young.
