Media notes
Singing just outside hotel in Kuankuoshui. Bird perched in some sort of conifer, maybe a spruce. Was two birds in the tree initially but the other bird flew off when the second bird flew in. Perhaps a male chasing a female. Male stayed in the tree and continued singing. Behaviour was reminiscent of Horsfield's Bronze or Black-eared Cuckoo. Perched 12m up tree at the end of one of the highest branches in the tree. Recording made at 07:20.
Observation details
Stunning birds!! Excellent views of two just around the house including a vocal male. Later had another bird perched just down the birding track, apparently where one was perched last year, but it was quickly chased off by a Brown-breasted Bulbul.
