Observation details
Continuing rarity. This photo shows another behavior that this bird displays that will help with positive identification. Each time this bird sings, it puts a lot of heart into its song. The singing is much more emphatic that its neighboring cousin, Black-whiskered Vireo. This is evident by how he fans his tail wide when singing. Every song is delivered with the fanning of the tail. Black-whiskered Vireo does not do this. Of course, if you have him singing, then you have his song, which is a much stronger characteristic than any tail fanning. Still cool to look out for when observing this bird.
