The bird was observed for about 10 minutes in a patch of Iva frutescens before it flew east. We noted the diagnostic dark forked tail with white outer retrices, dark wings contrasting with the pale gray scapulars, throat, and breast, as well as a not-quite full black cap. Habits were kingbird-like but with a more undulating flight. The bird was silent for the duration of time. We were able to get a few poor, but identifiable, digi-binned photos that I've attached below.
