Observation details
Probably a low count. An additional bird first heard chipping and only glimpsed for a second was not counted. Two definite Kirtland's later heard singing loudly from different areas as we drive the sandy "road" through textbook Kirtland's habitat. One male perched openly on jackpine allowing great looks for nearly a minute.
