Observation details
4 males and 5 females. Four pairs of LEBI in four distinct location. The last LEBI was a female in an area where I have not had any LEBI but the marsh in this area has changed over the past 8 years. → St. 31: Male came flying right at me from behind. He then crept into an area where I could not fully discern a nest or not and then a female came out. Most probably caught them in between brood shifts. → St. 32: This was really cool. Over an expanse of open water of about 75 yards, two pairs were counter calling and moving around. The separation was enough so that the males I had seen engaging in territorial chasing seemed to be ok. → St. 33: Pair exactly where I had them last survey. Counter calling. → St. b: Female that made a series of calls then clawed to the top of a cattail and flew a short distance. Recorded.
