Observation details
Our Explorama guide Cesar Servillano G. spotted this oilbird on a branch that extended over the stream. When we first came upon it, it was rocking gently back and forth like a leaf. It looked almost "animatronic".We all got to see it. I took photos with a 300mm zoom but only one photo came out decently due to problems with lighting, distance, and the angle. Our boat eventually passed directly underneath it. Later, on our way back, the oilbird was still there on the branch. We could see the tail of the oilbird from the other side of the branch.
