Observation details
First observation at 0553. 1 counted on property. At point P06, saw a male BRBL in the grasses ca 5 m away. Made agitated calls and then walked off, disappearing into the grasses. As I approached he finally flushed from ca 2 m away and walked away. Located him again at 0820, still in the same area. Did not appear injured, but I never saw him flying - perhaps an injury? At 1230 on the return, a BRBL flushed from the same general area, along an excavated floodplain bench, and did similar non-flying escape behavior. Ca 1440, saw an adult flying in from the E in a fast low glide to perch in a Russian-olive in the sewage lagoon area. Mobbed on arrival by an adult male NOHA that continued in an aerial chase to the vicinity of Head Lane. The RTHA was then mobbed there by 4 BRBL. Detections (number 15-minute intervals in which the species was detected): 2 on property. 1 beyond property. 5 flyover(s).
