Observation details
While driving down Reno Hillside Road, we decided to bird around the location where a Yellow-throated Warbler was found last year on June 26th. Very shortly after pulling over, I heard a Yellow-throated Warbler singing in the distance! The bird was actively singing for at least 3 minutes from what seemed to be a set of pines approximately here: 43.607353, -91.279478. The song was a distant, but clear series of somewhat slurred notes that dropped slightly in pitch and ended with the last note rising. Unfortunately the warbler never came very close, and despite my attempts to record the bird’s song, there was a slight breeze and the other birds were singing loudly resulting in very poor quality recordings.
