Observation details
Adult male. Silvery to dark gray hood including face that lacked eye arcs or an eyering and dark eyes creates uniformly colored and unmarked forequarters, excepting the black rectangular bar on breast atlower edge of the hood. Olive back, upper tail surface, and wing panel. Yellow-olive broadly on sides and flanks in broad transition zone that blends the olive upperparts with bright yellow on underparts from lower edge of hood thru undertail coverts. Pinkish legs. Longish, fairly heavy bill pointed tip bill, mostly silvery gray/black with some pale pinkish on at least basal portion of lower mandible. Long undertail coverts, half or more tail length. Sang a series of equally accented repeated churry churry churry sequences on same pitch. Call a soft, scracky tchek-like note - very different from familiar call of a Mac - I’ld concur with its description as a short somewhat wren-like scratchy note.
