Observation details

Called from AJ's backyard around 6am on Thursday, 4/19. AJ went out to see where it was and played tape hoping for it to respond. It burst off a limb directly above him, giving one-note "pip" calls and then sang the full song as it flew a short distance away directly north. AJ estimated it had flown about 100 yards. That evening, we decided to walk the neighborhood to see if we could find where it went. One of AJ's neighbors invited us into their backyard and around 8:24pm, the bird started singing from the tree we suspected it had flown to. We placed a spotlight on it and were able to watch it for over a minute. It flew out several times and we were able to clearly see the white corners of the tail. It also made the one-note calls again briefly.
