Media notes
Arctic Tern in flight, Rye NH June 2019
Observation details
Seen well, perched only a few yards offshore on some boulders. Often perched next to Common Terns for easy comparison. Short all-red bill, short stubby legs, shorter black cap. Observed for several hours as it was feeding & roosting with a large flock of Common Terns and few Roseates. Very difficult to differentiate from Common Terns in flight, but easy when roosting side by side.
