Media notes

Making this sound while building a nest; I assume this ACFL is a female. The nest is in the early stages of weaving. The call is at 4 seconds and 14 seconds. A WEVI sings twice in-between the two ACFL calls. Recorded at 10:17 am EDT

Observation details

Female building a nest in a small, three-stemmed Carpinus (?) hardwood just east of 4-1/2-mile marker, river side of trail. Nest is in early stages of building; it is over the center of the paved trail, less than 15 feet up. She was making a “Whip” call while she was weaving the nest. We noticed her on the walk back. Recording and photo.
