Media notes
The same bird that is pictured was the singer. This recording is unfiltered. Red-bellied Woodpecker nearby. The two low notes after the warble also on this recording.
Observation details
Initially it was foraging by itself about 35 feet up in a tree behind the cemetery, and it was never joined by another of its species. All the photographs are of the same bird, and that is the one that was recorded. It moved around to several different trees. Recording uneven when I was photographing it and had to let go of the parabola. The other Red-eyed Vireos sang their usual songs, but the one that is recorded was singing a very different song from the usual. It never reverted to the usual song. Audio attached.
