Observation details
The Eurasian Scops Owls were about 20-30 feet away from me and were observed for about 15 minutes. They were sitting on a tree by the side of the kuchha motorable track. One was sitting in front and in good light though some part of it was always slightly covered by leaves from every angle. Some times it opened its eyes a little more but didn’t feel threatened and it hardly moved a bit. The second bird was about 5 feet behind the first owl. It was not visible fully from any one angle and was in shade. However by moving the vehicle forward and rear multiple times it was also clearly observed to be a Eurasian Scops Owl. No calls were heard. Pics of owl in front only were clicked due the rear owl being in thicker foliage. It’s a sanctuary and rules do not permit one to get down from vehicle.
