Observation details
Seen and HEARD singing and calling several times at the spring on uppermost trail before powerline cut at Lake Mohegan. Thrush flushed from side of trail and gave call note characteristic of Gray-cheeked / Bicknell's type birds, perched in full view, showing blank face without buffy eye spectacles of Swainson's, lightly spotted breast, almost no rufous tones. Then the bird proceeded to sing softly several times, and we clearly heard distinctive upward inflection at the end that separates Bicknell's song from the downslurred ending of Gray-cheeked. Bird then was relocated several minutes later and called loudly several times. Recordings of call obtained.
