Willow Flycatcher at Jim May Park, Santa Maria, CA
Observation details
Found this Willow Flycatcher down in the channel below the footbridge moving between low willow branches and bulrushes. It eventually moved toward me where I was able to photograph it. It was vocal on a few occasions giving the telltale "fitz-bew" call. It was initially identified by its ashy throat, olive-brown color with little greenish-yellow tone, long bill with pale lower mandible, and lack of prominent eye ring. Photographed
