Observation details
First thought there was a bird of prey round when all the Masked Lapwings flew off the fields and the Magpie-larks and Australian Magpies all flew into the trees around the edge of the field. Then two Black Falcons appeared flying low over the field pursuing a feral pigeon. They were extremely persistent and chased the pigeon for probably over a kilometre high up into the sky. All dark with two-toned appearance below with slightly paler primaries and secondaries which showed no trace barring. Tail long and slender (see attached photograph with the falcon on the right and the pigeon on the left).
