Media notes
Recorded at a range of about 30 meters during display flights and while perched. Sonds of loud raindrops hitting the dish are audible. Edits: trimmed at both ends. 12 seconds in the middle of people talking also edited out. Not normalized due to the loud impulses caused by rain. Presumably this was a male. A northern mockingbird and Gambel's quail are also audible.
Observation details
Mile 19 on Cedar Canyon Road. Bird heard singing from perches and while doing display flights. During the display flights, the bird usually took off and then started to sing after it had been flying briefly. Height of the display flights was only about 20 feet. Photos and audio recordings. Heard singing spontaneously.
