Observation details
I am not 100% sure on this, since I did not see the M, and I did not get the best photos (best one attached), but I can't see what else this could have been. I ran back to get my scope, but some guy flushed them all before I got back. There was a *tiny* gull in the roost, was far smaller than the bonapartes, and looked to be half the size of the ring-billeds around. The spot on the back of the head was not that distinct and it almost looked more like a line, but the top of the head was gray, not white as in the adjacent bonapartes. Bill looked longer and skinnier than I remember it being, but the bird was very small and dainty. Never stood up, though other gulls walked in front and behind it, giving good perspective on its truly tiny size.
