Observation details
Flock of 9 adult-plumaged birds standing/resting on the bank next to the embayment around the marina. Bruce Dralle pointed them out to us as we arrived. Pink bills, black bellies. Very typical behavior for wild ducks that we have previously observed many times in Florida. No leg bands were seen. After watching them for a few minutes, a pedestrian group with children walked too close to where the ducks were resting and the ducks were spooked and flew. We observed the white wing patches and whistling chatter as they circled the bay twice, then they flew north over the hill as the sunlight faded to darkness. It is possible they will return to the same location, or maybe just fly on wherever they are headed. Photos attached.
