Observation details
Several scaup in a small flock were constantly flying from one spot to another west of the causeway. Each time they settled on the water the males would begin fighting over a female causing the female to become "spooked" and fly off. The males would then follow in pursuit. The flock appeared to be mixed of both LESC and GRSC and at times broke into smaller groups. Eight scaup (of both kinds) together with three more scaup much more distant were the most seen at one time. Photos;
