Observation details
**Presumed ID based on current knowledge; status of such birds unknown, but may become increasingly likely over time. Flew in and then spent about five minutes actively feeding in our pond before it was apparently spooked by a passing truck. A small white egret with dark bill; bright yellow lores and yellow bridge across forehead as in Snowy. Most significantly, it displayed bushy plumes extending from the rear crown plus two long plumes extending well beyond those (and appearing close to expected length for Little). Plumes on the back consistently appeared fluffy/curly and Snowy-like. The feet were fairly bright orange-yellow, also seemingly better for Snowy. By itself for the duration of this observation.
