Observation details
Right after I got my scope up (Swarovski 60HD) I began scanning the sky and quickly found a kite flying toward me. As it got closer I could clearly see that it was a Mississippi Kite - pale head , pointed wings, slightly forked tail and grayish body. Light was poor, but good enough to take a couple of pictures. My camera was still in the bag (poor planning) so I lost time getting it out and the bird had just about gotten out of range, but my Canon 60x was able to lock on enough. As soon as I took the picture I realized there was a 2nd bird behind this one and even further out a third. Got another poor picture of the 2nd and skipped the third.
