Observation details
Singing frequently. Spent most of its time on the south (Mexico) side of the Rio Grande, but it did briefly cross to the U.S. side of the river where it also sang a few times. First spotted by David Tønnessen and Joshua Smith who got us on the bird minutes later after we ran over from the observation tower. My (Ryan's) 699th species in the ABA area. Lifer for both of us. Record later accepted by the Texas Bird Records Committee, the 47th state record but only the second since 2009.
