Observation details
A small sparrow, pale buffy overall, with a large bill, flat head profile, complete white eyering, buffy yellow supraloral feathers, white median crown stripe, dark spot on rear auriculars, pale buffy face, sides and undertail, although not as rich as illustrated in many field guides, sides not streaked, neatly patterned back with subtle rufous spots visible, streaks on upper back more grey than buffy - observed foraging on side of road in short grasses along the flooded field section, flew off at approach of road traffic, but returned to roadside after several minutes
