Observation details
At least two individuals were seen at Main Ranch between 10:30-11:30 a.m. The first bird I saw (at 10:30 a.m. near the Main Ranch guest cabins was a color-banded individual that was blue over yellow over blue on its left leg (bands on the right leg were not visible in my photo). A gust of wind made this individual look briefly like a Steller's Jay (the first photo)! The second (unbanded) individual was seen perched on a leafless branch at Main Ranch at about 11:30 a.m. and a very approachable color-banded (blue over orange, silver over green) individual was foraging on the jeep road adjacent to the fresh water coastal marsh restoration area at 1:20-1:22 p.m.
