Observation details
Standing in the water in Pond C. Bigger than Forster's tern with black legs, light gray back and wings, lower half of face was white as was the throat, breast and belly. Crown was black and shaggy; bill was long and thin, mostly orange turning to yellow toward the tip, which was black. Bill thinner than that of Royal tern, and thinner and oranger than a Caspian tern.
