Observation details
I don't know what to make of this male. It clearly has a broad yellow band to the tips of the red epaulet. All the rest of the males displaying at this site are typical 'Bicolored' redwings without this feature. Perhaps this is an inherent recessive character in Bicolor populations? Or perhaps this is a wanderer from another population? For now I label it as "Red-winged (Red-winged)" but I don't have confidence that it IS a different population. The label will make it searchable, though.
