Observation details
male and female seen together near where COHA have nested in the past. Small hawk. Dark gray cap. Orange-red eyes. Both had long tails with a narrow white terminal band and both were flaring their undertail coverts. The fine rusty barring on the breast showed best on the male. The female stayed perched while the male flew from the female to last year's nest and back several times, later the male flew to and landed on a near by squirrel nest before leaving the area. The female called once but not as loud or as long as when i heard her 2 days ago,
