Observation details
[presumably C. c. bogotensis; would be eBird group "Tropical" as opposed to Middle American "Short-legged" or "Tumbes" groups, the latter split by IOC and HBW (Tumbes Pewee or Western Tropical Pewee, respectively). Per HBW, C. c. bogotensis along with C. c. surinamensis and Middle American "Short-legged" group split as C. bogotensis, Northern Tropical Pewee.] I have to admit that this bird struck me as an Empidonax, and the pale underparts were not in sync with my se. Brazil conception of Tropical Pewee, where they are washed with gray below. Indeed, HBW splits C. c. pallescens and C. c. cinereus as Southern Tropical Pewee, C. cinereus.
