NOTES: Weather: WIND; TUIS ARE THE FIRST BIRDS TO VOCALIZE ON THIS ISLAND AT THIS TIME. THEFIRST NOTES ARE GENERALLY LIQUID. THEN VARIOUS GURGLES AND SQUAWKS APPEAR WITH PERIODS OF SILENCE BETWEEN. THE TUIS DID NOT ALLOW ACLOSE APPROACH. AS IS CUSTOMARY AMONG TUIS, THE ONES ON THIS ISLAND VOCALIZE ABIT DIFFERENTLY THAN THE ONES ELSEWHERE. THESE SONGS WERE RECORDED INTHE THICK, SECOND GROWTH FOREST NOW COVERING MOST OF THE ISLAND. 1.5KHZ HIGH PASS FILTER. Sound stimulation was (other): NATURAL(NO PLAYBACK). Other Behaviors: Advertise.
