Observation details
Photos and sound recording. Black, uncooperative flycatcher, black head, black throat, black wings, black tail. White belly coming to a point at breast. Slight streaking for lack of a better word on primaries. Unless there is a sub-species/melonistic variation of Eastern Phoebe I don't know about that also has a black throat, this is definately a Black Phoebe. Vocalizing a lot. Always over water flycatching. Found by the road at the northern entrance but followed for hours all around the outfall area, the point and into the Little Flatbrook at the outfall. The bird also flew across the road to the shrubby, marsh adjacent to the Little Flatbrook. Last seen around the large Norway Spruces between the road and the outfall, between the two parking lots. Contacted Marianne Ofenloch who also saw the bird. Will post photos and audio recording.
