Terra firme forest (near border with floodplain forest); mostly sunny. Moving about 1m above ground through understory. In a mixed understory flock with Thamnomanes, Xiphorhynchus guttatus, Dendrocolaptes certhia, Cercomacra sp., Myrmotherula axillaris, Automolus ochrolaemus. Singing regularly and giving assorted other calls. I am not positive whether the trills in the eighth segment (6:12-7:32) are from this species or not. Habitat: Tropical Forest.
