A bird chirps regularly in the background. Occasional voices in the background. 2:23-2:30 Bill says, "Hey Padron. Until we get about half-way out." 2:31-3:48 More feet sloshing through mud and water. Good plunking noises as feet hit the water. Water sounds like it's getting deeper and deeper. 3:48-5:24 Coming out of the deepest part of the water, then back into it, more sloshing. Alex sloshes by and then Bill starts walking again, sloshing. 5:24-6:10 Walking stops. Lots of birds twittering. A bird or animal that sounds like a creaky rocking chair is particularly interesting. An animal in the distance sounds like a baby wailing. 6:11-6:27 Resumes wading through the water. Birds start calling loudly, walking stops. 6:28-8:02 No walking. The birds that sounded like babies wailing are flying overhead, calling loudly. They pause and then call again. Meanwhile the forest is alive with bird noises and the creaking rocking chair animal. 8:02-8:49 Walking resumes, with the wailing birds calling occasionally. Feet hit dry land and begin walking on the dirt path. 8:49-9:09 Walking stops. Sounds of the forest¿birds etc. 9:10-9:38 Walking on dry land resumes. 9:39-10:30 Feet plunge into water, walking again through the thick water. 10:31-10:49 Walking through shallow water. 10:50-11:00 walking stops. 11:01-12:27 Walking through deep water again, then it gets shallower, finally onto dry land and walking continues on the dry land. 12:27-12:30 interesting new bird sounds 12:30-13:05 Still walking on dry land. 13:06-13:09 feedback in the microphone. 13:10-14:18 walking has stopped. Lots of regular noises, a chorus of bugs and birds. 14:19-14:26 walking. 14:26-16:42 Forest noises, no walking. Monkey or bird chatters occasionally in the distance. 16:43-17:14 Walking resumes. Dry land. 17:15 Fuzz in the mike. 17:16-19:00 Still walking on dry land. 19:01-19:33 Walking, but it sounds like walking through brush. Walking continues as guides, forest guards speak. Alex asks a question in French and everybody stops walking. 19:34 AC So, they're forest guards, about oh, 5 or 6 of them have just come by, led by a BaAka guide and then a couple of guys carrying weapons and in uniform, and they go on down the path. 19:48-20:23 Men's voices rumbling in the background, walking resumes. 20:23-22:00 Bill pauses, has a stone in his shoe. Carolyn declares that heaven is being in an elephant dung swamp and not having pebbles in one's shoes. 22:00-25:32 Bill walks again, free of pebbles. Hallelujah! Walking through rough terrain, sounds like there is vegetation or something to struggle through. 25:33-26:45 Ambi. Walking stops. Forest is calmer but droning of insects is still loud. 26:46-28:03 Walking resumes, less difficult terrain. Occasionally passing through more difficult-sounding passages. 28:03-28:35 Ambi. No walking. 28:36-31:54 Walking continues. Animal squawks in the background with regularity... (Notes truncated)
