People gossiping about ivorybill articles all over the place, letters from other bitter birders who are convinced of the ivorybill's extinction¿trucks still coming and going. 9:30 discussion about bird guides that still have pictures of ivorybills, with text describing that they are most likely extinct. 10:49 introduction of pilot Daniel Bros to all of the searchers. Discussion of conditions and air sickness, where to fly and take pictures. Cameramen in back, searcher in front. 30 minute flights. 18:00 chit chat about camera techniques, video shooting. 18:35 car pulls out. 19:04 "more distant voices at the airport." 19:40 Peter and Michael head to the plane to fly. 21:00 walking towards the plane. Feet clomping on ground, pilot talking. 22:00 getting in plane. Arranging who will sit where. Metal clunking noises as camera is hoisted up front. 23:33 propeller/engine warming up, sputtering to a start. 24:35 begins take off, fades away. 25:30 louder plane starts up, quiets 26:28 takes off. Flies away. 27:45 plane flies overhead, away. Plane sounds continue, circling and getting distant 29:30 directly overhead, really loud. 30:00 planes continue to fade in and out 34:26 stopdown 34:27 quieter ambience, still MS. Goes over to talk to the people who haven't gone on the flight yet while the first flight is in the air. 37:40 voices getting louder, conversations about flying. 40:55-41:40 more quiet ambience at the airfield. 41:40 man on loudspeaker giving flight info 41:42 more quiet ambi, occasional footsteps on gravel. 42:28 voices in distance 42:42 truck starts up, pulls out 42:59 loudspeaker voice again. 43:08 conversations resume, evening schedule. 44:41 truck starts up, drives away, conversation continues. 47:48 plane coming towards microphone, landing. Intercom system voice. Plane gets louder, dies down quickly by 48:39. 48:50 conversations, plan new group to go in plane. 52:00 conversation (with pilot?) about ivorybill sighting by Kulivan. Continued conversations, some distant. 57:50 away from the voices. Insect buzz and a flag flapping against flagpole, metal on metal. 58:25 interrupted by incoming plane engine sounds. 1:01:00 more plane sounds. 1:02:05 moving to the ramp to greet the returning plane 1:03:00 plane lands 1:04:00 pinging of the heated engine cooling down. 1:05:08 stopdown 1:05:09 the fliers have returned, get out of the plane.
