Observation details

It was possibly just one bird, but I believe that it is more likely that it was two separate birds. One was heard prior to sunrise from the observation deck on Big Gully Road. I have suspected that the calls that others and myself have been hearing from the observation deck were not coming from immediately below the deck but from across the creek on the north side. (I had seen one on the north side just ten days earlier, and had also seen three birds in the same location last year.) After sunrise, while on the north side, I heard another bird calling from a wet area just south of the hill on that side. This location is farther from the observation deck than the area in which I had seen a bittern ten days earlier (and also last year). It is possible that it was the same bird, but the distance from the observation deck causes me to think that it was a second bird.
