Observation details
A record high count for the county. These were visible as large black birds standing on the shoreline in the cove at the far south end of the lake from several hundred yards away. After I had observed and photographed them for quite awhile, some hikers or fishermen walking into the cove area from the road in Cundiyo spooked the birds, and all of them took flight, leaving the Neotropic Cormorants behind. One photo shows a portion of the mixed flock on water, the other shows the fourteen DCCOs in flight as they left.
