Observation details
Juvenile male present since at least 14 Nov 2018, when it was discovered by Samantha & Philip Andescavage. We missed it on two previous visits, on 24 Nov 2018 and 3 Mar 2019, but found it instantly today. This is a state bird for Val, and my second for Florida (my first was in Franklin County on 28 Mar 2007; https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S19128219). Jon Greenlaw, the author of the Spotted Towhee and Eastern Towhee "Birds of North America Online" ornithological series, is confident that this individual is of the _arcticus_ subspecies based on the plumage details visible in photographs posted to eBird. (Jon is also a close friend to each of us; he and his wife live in Tampa).
