Media notes
Here the bird is back on the Roost tree with the cavity hidden.
Observation details
Photos taken defending its roost cavity and food caches from a Downy pair and three RBNH. When I first arrived the RHWP was scolding 2 Blue Jay at a suet feeder. This bird remains amazingly active defending it "territory" of feeders. Head still has immature brown plumage scattered among the crimson which now dominates the malar and head region.
