Observation details
Another quick visit from the shrike, and sorry for the blurred picture. He is quick and does not hang around. The more interesting picture, though, is of the dead chickadee I found stashed in the top of a sapling, jammed into a Y branch, hanging by the neck. Though I did not see the shrike put him there, I am positive it is his work because of the proximity to my house and feeders, because of the way I have observed the shrike pursuing the chickadees, and because I know shrikes stash their food.
