Observation details
Coopers Hawk attacked a CBTH as the thrasher approached shrubs in the Eastern canal. The hawk followed the bird right into dense cover and almost grabbed it right then and there, but the CBTH managed to escape. The Thrasher did not realize that the Coopers did not leave and was waiting up top on the fence. The Thrasher made the mistake to try and flee but was quickly snatched up by the hawk. The hawk struggled to put the bird down while balancing on twigs. It was over in about 90 seconds. Too bad the hawk did not take a Grackle! For me, it was a little painful to watch being my first time to see a bird taken.
