Media notes
From this angle the head seems large and the whitish belly is more apparent.Less streaking down below on breast belly area. The tail looks like its trying to be round as opposed to the top image, still not a good angle to judge the tail.
Observation details
This hawk was found in the Eastern canal. Merlin had it as Sharp-Shinned, second option Coopers Hawk. But at a different angle it said Coopers. The head looks big to me, over all on size the bird is on the large size. Down low more white is showing on the lower belly area. With the immature Coopers this is a field mark. The tail is tricky even looking somewhat wedge shaped not rounded like in the coopers. I think from this angle I am sold because of the head size and whitish belly and on overall size.
