Observation details
edited 2.26.19 to add detail as to this identification: r/o snow goose, no black on wings, bill wrong shape and color, legs black not pink, far larger than snows; r/o mute swan, smaller, no black knob on bill or orange tip in adults observed. r/o trumpeter: observations of individuals at a closer distance with 8X56 zeiss bins, smaller birds, bills slightly curved, not straight from eye to tip, not v-shaped near forehead. two juveniles had orange at bases of bills, unlike which would occur in trumpeter. several individuals repeatedly calling, a series of dog-like trilly noises, unlike single notes uttered by trumpeters. no better pictures to back these observations; still working on figuring out the autofocus on the new camera, as is evidenced by the spectacularly clear shot of corn stubble in the above shots, but not of the swans' heads.
