Observation details
Large, chubby, first-year gull with short wing projection. Mostly dirty light grayish-beige color. Folded primaries same color but at times appearing slightly paler than back. Head, neck, and chest white, contrasting with the rest of the body along a sharp demarcation (although somewhat exaggerated in my low-quality photos). Darker smudges near eye. Black bill, short but quite thick. Much larger than the Iceland Gulls present, and bulky, short-winged appearance a good match for Glaucous-winged but not Iceland Gull.
