Observation details

*Expected in these very deep waters, and one of the main reasons we come out this far. We started seeing these coming into our chum slick pre-sunrise, and had a minimum of a dozen, and perhaps as many as twenty (20 is likely a bit too high). Photos by many on board of several individuals. Excellent repeated views of these allowed us to study everything about them, from flight style and behavior, to proportions and plumage detail. A definite highlight of the trip!
