Media notes
Although these sounded to my ear like simple chips, on the sonogram it can be seen that there is variation and complexity in the sounds. Tufted Titmice make a large variety of songs and calls.
Observation details
Although I was looking for them, I did not see any Tufted Titmice in the cemetery for a full 2.5 hours. Then I came upon this little group of three near the entrance to the cemetery. They were in a small bush on a bank below the trail I was on. They stayed together for the whole time I was observing them. Instead of singing/calling their more typical songs/calls, they made only a chip note at regular intervals. When I saw a Raven reflected on the back of the parabola as I recorded them, their chipping stopped. The Raven was flying quite high up overhead, and did not seem to show any interest in the titmice.
